These clashes are said to have left one indigenous killed and several wounded from both sides. </div><div><br></div><div>Here's the link for the whole article : </div><div><br></div><div><a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/wpdyn/content/article/2009/09/30/AR2009093005385.html?wprss=rss_world/wires">http://www.washingtonpost.com/wpdyn/content/article/2009/09/30/AR2009093005385.html?wprss=rss_world/wires</a></div><div><br></div><div>There is something very interesting in this story I think. As usual, corporations tries to make profit destroying everything without any conscience on social or environnemental levels (maybe the only green they see is dollar's one ?). But this time it's not with the complicity of a right-wing government as in Peru, but with help from a left-wing-one ! It is effectively very surprising (or more cynically «interesting») to see President Rafael Correa, the same who spoke with four other left-wing president at the WSF, giving support to corporations by making this law and use coercition against indigenous protesters...</div><div><br></div><div>This is only a first analysis and I'm not a specialist of the question so I will be very glad to hear all the analysis you will make about that and to have also any further information as they will come to you (and us)</div><div><br></div><div>And one last thing : I apologize for this english-only e-mail but I'm not fluent enough in Portuguese nor Spanish to write what i said in these languages (As a french-speaker, English is already a foreign language for me !)</div><div><br></div><div>I hope there will be a good exchange on this ecuadorian question,</div><div><br></div><div>Best regards to all, </div><div><br></div><div>Anthony Côte</div><div>Student in Political Science at the Université de Montréal (Canada)</div></div>_______________________________________________<br>** WSFDiscuss is an open and unmoderated forum for the exchange of information and views on the experience, practise, and theory of the World Social Forum at any level (local, national, regional, and global) and on related social and political movements and issues.
