[WSF-Discuss] Decent Work Analysis - and Beyond

Thanks a lot Guy for this excellent article. I can only share your views and
regret that, when my first analysis of PRSPs, CLSs and 'decent work' pointed
in a neoliberal direction, harsh criticism was the only reaction I got....
What book on Polanyi are you referring to? Could you send details? Thanks a
lot.

Peter,

Wishing you a Happy 2009, in which a progressive vision takes shape in the
wake of the end of globalization, I am attaching the PDF version of the ILO
article. Let me know that you can read it. The forthcoming book tries to
take forward the critique of labourism and recover the progressive core of
what I had hoped would be the thrust of 'decent (sic) work'. That is also
done in an article on labour recommodification in the global transformation,
in a book on Polanyi published a few months ago.

I envy you the Belem Forum. I hope it goes well.

All the very best,

Guy

Having provoked a discussion about Decent Work, the ITUC and ILO Connection,
I find I do not have on my mahcine in Lima a copy of the Guy Standing
article from Development and Change (my old house journal).

This document has been available on the web somewhere and I may have copied
through to one or more of you folks.

If someone has an online copy of this - including Guy himself of course
- I would appreciate a copy - preferably b4 New Year.

Thanx,

Peter W
